Tell us about your family.

“My boyfriend Derrick was born and raised in Minto, whereas I [Nicole] was born in the GTA. We’ve been together for 6 years and our 5-year-old golden retriever is Tucker.”

Where did you move from and why did you decide to Move to Minto?

“I’m from Georgetown and grew up there from the age of three. I moved to Minto for an amazing job opportunity, and we are fortunate to have built our first home together in Palmerston.”

What are some of your favourite ways to spend time in Minto?

“During the nicer months we enjoy walks along the trails and around the arena parks. In the winter months, we enjoy walking through the Lions Park in Palmerston.”

Do you have a favourite local business or place to shop?

“Derrick and I support the local Wing House restaurant in Palmerston. One of my favourite places to shop is The Perfect Piece in Harriston, as I love buying new home décor and the shop is always up to date in styles.”

What has surprised you about living here?

“The one thing that surprised me the most is the friendly community. Coming from a big town it is always so fascinating and heart-warming to see a community come together and support each other, especially in these past few years.”

What would you tell someone who was interested in moving to Minto?

“One thing that makes Minto stand out to me compared to other communities is just how the community comes together to support one another. There are always events happening all around which are kid-friendly, or after work hours, so everyone can attend. There are individually-owned stores that make Minto so unique.”
